They use literature, acting and music to profoundly reflect upon historically significant events and to capture the colors, sounds and emotions of being a Texan. Because these pieces have a uniting and universal message that transcends borders, they have the potential of establishing themselves in the repertoire of Texas orchestras and orchestras around the world. The John M. O’Quinn Foundation provided funding to produce a compact disk recording of these works. This recording has a dual purpose; to promote and preserve Texas art and culture and to support high quality music education opportunities for youth. All proceeds from the sales of this CD will benefit American Festival for the Arts (AFA), established in 1993 to provide music education and performance opportunities for youth and to broaden the audience for American works and classical music.
